Cystic Fibrosis Trust Charity Shoot

The club agreed to allow the ground and facilities to be used for a charity HFT shoot for the benefit of Cystic Fibrosis Trust. This was a 40 shot UKAHFT style competition.

52 competitors attended, traveling from far and wide to support this worthy cause. There were also quite a few spectators who came along to watch this rapidly expanding branch of air gun shooting.

The event was sponsored by May of London of Buckhurst Hill, Essex, who provided the trophies for both the main event and a long range side shoot competition. There were also lots of raffle prizes, which were distributed by drawing scorecards from a box at the presentation. I think that most cars leaving in the evening had at least one prize aboard.

However, the main purpose of the event was to raise money, and we are pleased to announce that the sum of £565 will be forwarded to the charity.

Phil Wright, who was the organiser of the event, has asked that I say thank you to all who made the effort to attend and that I give a special thanks to those Lea Valley members who helped to bring his idea to fruition. These include the course setters, caterers, administrators and general dogs bodies. I shan't embarrass the individuals by naming them, but they know who they are.
