UKAHFT Round 3 - Lincoln - 12 June 2005
Our hosts at Lincoln laid out a course which proved to be more difficult than first impressions would have suggested. This was in part due to the fact that the wind seemed to behave differently on the two halves of the course, but there was also so very subtle target placement.

There were seventeen members of the Lea Valley team in attendance and a fair number of other Lea Valley members contested what was another sell out event organised by UKAHFT. We were beaten into third place on the day, but it was significant that we only dropped two points to the two teams above us. This means that at this stage of the season, Lea Valley remain at the head of the league table.

Notable performances by Lea Valley members were those by James Huckle who won the Junior class to maintain his 100% record (59/60), John Beel, who won the recoiling class (55/60) and our top Open class shooter on the day, Owen Rosser who was equal 6th (58/60).

UKAHFT Round 1 - Quarry - 15 May 2005

The HFT season is now underway and the Lea Valley team were in action in Souith Wales at the home of Quarry Hunters. The course was challenging but entertaining and the weather ensured that everybody had an enjoyable time.

Twenty team members and several other Lea Valley members shooting as individuals were amongst the 200+ that contested the event and the score table shows that Lea Valley came away with the team trophies and took an early lead in this years competition. Lea Valley members also brought home the silverware in the Recoiling, Ladies and Junior classes and the Speed and Long Range side shoots.

A few words from our Team Captain, David Stancomb;
.
"I would like to add that I felt that in spite of a few setbacks regarding
the team losing members to other teams, losing team training sessions due to non team-related horticultural activities and a couple of other issues we managed to hold it together as a team to take the honours at Quarry (yet again). My thanks go out to all the team members who were able to make it to Quarry and future events.

James, Haakon, and Gretel deserve a mention in dispatches for an inspiring 57, 56 and 54 respectively on the day, as well as Paul for the 53 he managed, knowing how tight the competition was after the first session".
